Golden Star was formed by a group of women volunteers across Punjab, Pakistan in 2013. Golden Star’s main purpose is to promote the messages of peace, interfaith harmony, dignity and respect for people of all nations and religions, and to create cooperation and peace. The group has been participating in the International Youth Day, Women’s International Day of Peace, interreligious Christmas, Holi and Devali (Hindu feasts) and Eidul Fitr (Muslim) festivals.
Golden Star, as an organization working with the communities at the grassroots level, has organized programs on health and the environment. Golden Star also imparts advocacy skills to young girls and women, and raises awareness amongst the youth and multi stakeholders to advocate for their rights. Golden Star is aimed at creating a forum of dialogue discussion and cooperation for young people on human rights, including sexual reproductive health and rights, civic education, peace and intercultural harmony in Pakistan.

The mission of Golden Star is to create an enabling environment for participatory governance and sustainable collective action for peace, health, human security and Interfaith harmony in Pakistan at a grassroots level through the involvement of women and girls.
