Ambassador Mussie Hailu, who has served as Global Envoy and Director of the United Religion Initiative (URI) for Africa and Representative of URI to the Africa Union and the United Nations, has accepted a new role as Director of Global Partnerships.
The United Religions Initiative global network is celebrating World Interfaith Harmony Week (WIHW) around the planet. The United Nations has designated February 1-7 of every year as a time to celebrate interfaith peace and cooperation worldwide.
This year, for the first-ever World Tolerance Summit, URI sent a delegation of esteemed members to take part. URI’s Executive Director, The Rev. Victor H. Kazanjian, Jr., shares his reflections below :
URI was invited this year to be a part of the United Nations Alliance of Civilization Global Forum (UNAOC), which brings together key international actors from diverse fields to build productive partnerships and networks.
In partnership with the Hoover Institution, the United Religions Initiative (URI) will be hosting an international interfaith peacebuilding conference and the annual Circles of Light gala.
URI featured prominently in programs and workshops at the 2018 Parliament of the World’s Religions (PoWR), the largest global interfaith gathering, which took place November 1 – 7, 2018 in Toronto, ON.
Participants learn both online and in-person, identifying their core values, making plans for their lives, finding and adopting mentors, and learning principles and skills that will help them lead out in their own lives and give back to others.
