URI Stories of Impact

In the background of ongoing violence on the border of Israel and Gaza, a recent terror attack in Jerusalem, and a tense security situation, we invited Christian, Druze, Jewish and Muslim women to our TRUST WIN celebration of Sukkot and the International Day of Peace.

For the first time, thanks to Grammy-nominated music legend Pato Banton and the generosity of URI musical artists from across the globe, URI's incredible diversity is being celebrated in the form of an album of 30 songs.

United Religions Initiative (URI) and the United Nations Office on Genocide Prevention and the Responsibility to Protect have signed a partnership agreement, enhancing their working partnership at the global level to promote a culture of peace.

An identity map hangs on a wall, representing both the visible and invisible qualities of a person. Another map hangs beside it, and another and another, until you see a room full of these maps, and a diverse group of middle and high schoolers reading one other’s, growing in empathy and unity.

Victor Rey, a member of the Santiago Spiritual Forum for Peace who resides in Ecuador, participated in the training workshop on Human Rights on Freedom and Religious Equality.

URI will be featured in more than 50 programs and workshops at the 2018 Parliament of the World’s Religions, the largest global interfaith gathering, this November 1 – 7, 2018 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in Toronto, ON.
