URI Stories of Impact

On 17 August 2022, URI regional coordinators for Southern Africa and Western Africa organized a webinar that brought together participants from various URI regions to discuss the Role of Religion in Peacebuilding and development.

September 2022 opens an exciting fresh chapter in URI history. The Global Council is honored to welcome newly elected Preeta Bansal as Chair of the Global Council, and Daniel Eror as Vice Chair.

The United Religions Initiative (URI) joins people the world over in remembering and honoring the life of Mikhail Gorbachev (March 2,1931–August 30, 2022)

They are young people from different URI regions and are passionate about peacebuilding and making a difference in the world!

Let me begin by saying how privileged I feel to have had the opportunity to serve URI. The honor of representing URI in so many ways has been so humbling and a real opportunity to make a difference internally and in the global interfaith world.

On 18 August 2022, URI celebrated youth leadership and intergenerational solidarity together! Participants from different URI regions shared stories about when they experienced intergenerational solidarity.

URI pays tribute to Ciro Gabriel Avruj, a former Global Council Trustee who passed on to the light.

URI Global Council Trustee, Issac Thomas was recently invited to speak at a program of the Multiconvergence of Global Networks (MRG), where he shared his work with two URI Cooperation Circles’ ‘Voices for a World Free of Nuclear Weapons’ and ‘1 Billion Youth for Peace’.
